Baltimore County Jury Awards $1.85 Million Verdict for 71-Year-Old Memory Care Resident

VERDICT ALERT $1.85 Million!

A Baltimore Jury Awarded Furman Honick's client a $1.85million Award.

Yesterday, a Baltimore County jury returned a $1.85 million verdict in favor of our client. Our client was a 71-year-old memory-care resident who suffered catastrophic injuries after being left and locked outside in the dangerous heat for more than six hours at Morningside House of Satyr Hill.

EMS found our client lethargic, severely overheated, and alone on the facility’s rear patio. She was hospitalized for 11 days with heat stroke, severe sepsis, pneumonia, and significant functional decline.

Morningside admitted responsibility to try to keep the most egregious facts out of the courtroom (which did not work). The trial was focused on the extent of harm caused. We rejected an offer to settle before trial and fought for our client to let a jury speak the truth with their verdict!
